Türkiye's BIST 100 up at Thursday open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,457.89 points on Thursday, up 0.36%, or 19.51 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 1.05% to close the day at 5,438.38, with a daily trading volume of 86 billion liras ($4.56 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.9533 as of 09.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.0025, while a British pound traded for 22.4786 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $82.73 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,817.20.
