Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul starts week looking up

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,516.87 points on Monday, up 1.14%, or 62.08 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.14% on Friday to close the week at 5,454.79 points, with a daily trading volume of 90 billion Turkish liras ($4.82 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.6558 as of 9.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.8290, and a British pound traded for 22.5018 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $84.50 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1,806.
