Türkiye's Borsa Istanbul up at open

ANKARA (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 5,510.78 points on Friday, up 0.62%, or 33.86 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index surged 2.46% to close at 5,476.92 points, with a daily trading volume of 95 billion Turkish liras ($5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.7113 as of 09.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 19.9241, and a British pound traded for 22.5437 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $83.76 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was at $1826.75.
