Türkiye's capacity utilization up in February

ISTANBUL (AA) - The capacity utilization rate for the Turkish manufacturing industry saw a slight increase of 0.1 percentage points to 74.9% in February on a monthly basis, according to the findings of a Turkish Central Bank survey released on Monday..

Data showed that the highest utilization in this month was 75.3% in intermediate goods, and the lowest rate was 70.5% in durable consumer goods.

Broken down by sector, the highest capacity usage was in the manufacture of tobacco products at 82.7%, while the lowest, 60.8%, was in leather products.

Capacity utilization rate figures are based on responses to a business tendency survey of local units operating in the manufacturing industry.

The Turkish Central Bank said 1,750 companies responded to the survey this month, and the data does not reflect the bank's views or predictions.
