Türkiye's ex-Prime Minister Binali Yildirim survives car accident in Azerbaijan
Binali Yildirim was taken to hospital by helicopter, escaped unharmed, says Turkish Communications Directorate

BAKU, Azerbaijan (AA) - Binali Yildirim, the former prime minister of Türkiye, survived a car accident in Azerbaijan, the Turkish Communications Directorate said Thursday.
Yildirim, who is currently serving as the deputy chairman of the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, was with another party deputy, Samil Ayrim, in the car. The duo was accompanying Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the opening ceremony of an airport in Azerbaijan.
Yildirim and Ayrim were taken to a hospital in Baku by helicopter, the statement said, adding that they escaped the accident unharmed.
AK Party’s spokesman Omer Celik and another senior party official Efkan Ala stayed in Baku to attend to them.
Earlier in the day, Erdogan went to Azerbaijan to inaugurate the Zangilan Airport in Karabakh, an area liberated from Armenian occupation.
