Türkiye’s international reserves reach another record high of $198.4B

As of Oct. 17, international reserves climb 4.6% compared to previous week, gold reserves jump 8.6%

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Turkish Central Bank's official international reserves reached an all-time high of $198.4 billion as of Oct. 17, according to official figures released on Thursday.

The total reserves surged 4.6%, or $8.7 billion, from the previous week's $189.7 billion, the bank said.

Foreign currency reserves — in convertible foreign currencies — ticked down 0.1% to $79.6 billion compared to the previous week.

The bank's gold reserves — including gold deposits and, if appropriate, gold-swapped — climbed 8.6% to $111.2 billion in the same period.

Meanwhile, total IMF reserve position and special drawing rights increased 0.2% to reach $7.7 billion.

The Turkish Central Bank's reserves hit a new record high for the fourth time in a row. In the last two months, the reserves reached record highs six times.
