Türkiye's ultimate expectation from Iraq is to recognize PKK as terror group: Foreign minister

ISTABUL (AA) - Türkiye's ultimate expectation from Iraq, which declared the PKK terror group as a "banned organization," is to recognize it as a terrorist organization, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Sunday.

As Türkiye, Iraq, Syria, "we must combine all our means' and destroy both ISIS (Daesh) and PKK terror groups, Fidan stated in a joint news conference with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein in Iraq’s capital Baghdad.

In its 40-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and EU – has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, infants and the elderly.
