MOSCOW (AA) - Ukraine on Wednesday claimed a Russian drone strike on a bus carrying workers killed nine people and injured 42 others.
Serhiy Lysak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, said on Telegram that the strike occurred in the city of Marhanets in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region.
"Forty-two people were injured as a result of an enemy attack on a bus in Marhanets. These are the latest figures. Nearly all of the injured were hospitalized; only three are receiving outpatient treatment," he said.
"The enemy strike claimed nine lives. My condolences to their families and loved ones."
The Dnipropetrovsk region has been a frequent target of Russian airstrikes, as it hosts several major Ukrainian defense enterprises, including those involved in the production of drones, missiles and rockets.
Moscow did not immediately comment on Kyiv’s allegations.
