Ukraine claims it struck drone launch site in Russia’s border region Kursk
General Staff says strike ‘tangible response’ to Russia’s actions against Ukraine’s army

ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukraine on Monday said that it struck a drone launch site in Russia’s border region of Kursk, where it launched an incursion last August.
A statement by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said the country’s air force carried out a “successful” strike Saturday on a launch site near the village of Tetkino, which lies on Russia’s border with Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region.
The statement claimed the facility was used by Russia to launch various types of drones into Ukraine and alleged that up to 20 Russian drone operators were killed in the strike.
“This strike of ours is a tangible response to the enemy’s actions against the Ukrainian army,” it added.
The Ukrainian military said it will continue to target Russian military infrastructure “until a just peace” is achieved.
Russian authorities did not immediately comment on the claim.
The strike came amid growing US pressure for a ceasefire in the more than three-year-long war.
US President Donald Trump on Sunday said he hopes Russia and Ukraine "will make a deal this week."
