ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday formed a high-level delegation to engage with international partners in negotiations aimed at securing a just and lasting peace.
According to a presidential decree, the delegation will be led by Andriy Yermak, chief of the presidential office.
It also includes Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa.
The decree authorizes Yermak to adjust the delegation’s composition with the approval of the foreign minister and to enlist government officials, advisers, and experts to support the negotiation process.
The development follows recent talks between Ukrainian and US delegations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. While Kyiv agreed on a 30-day ceasefire proposal, Washington resumed military aid and intelligence sharing which was suspended after a public argument between Zelenskyy, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance at the White House.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said he agrees with the truce proposal in principle, but any ceasefire should address the root causes of the conflict.
