Ukraine says over 8 people killed in past 24 hours by Russian forces

Information on deaths given in reference to statements given by governors of Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions

ISTANBUL (AA) – Ukraine said on Tuesday that more than eight people were killed by Russian forces over the past day across three regions in the country, as missile and artillery strikes have intensified in the country.

Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, issued a statement on Telegram, with reference to statements given by the administrations of the Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

“On November 21, Russians killed four civilians in the Donetsk region: in Bakhmut, Heorhiivka, Kurakhove and Petrivka. Another four people in the region were injured,” Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko said on Telegram.

Rocket strikes were reported in the Kharkiv region by Governor Oleh Synyehubov, who also said two people were injured as a result.

“Mine danger remains high. In Prishyb village in the Izyum district, a 50-year-old man blew up a mine. Unfortunately, he died on the spot,” Synyehubov said.

Separately, Kherson Governor Yaroslav Yanushevych said on Monday that four people who were injured by Russian attacks were taken to a regional hospital, where one person died during hospitalization.

The latest casualties in the region includes three deaths and 10 injuries, Tymoshenko said.

As of Monday, civilian casualties from the ongoing war in Ukraine have reached 16,784, including 6,595 killed and 10,189 injured, according to the UN figures.

The Ukrainian presidency said on Tuesday that more than eight people have been killed by Russian forces in the past day across three regions in Ukraine, as missile and artillery strikes have intensified in the country.
