Ukraine says Russian attacks similar to those by 'Nazi Germany' of 1940s

‘Last time our capital experienced anything like this was in 1941 when it was attacked by Nazi Germany,’ says foreign minister

KYIV, Ukraine (AA) – Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Russian rocket attacks on the capital Kyiv reminded him of life under Nazi Germany.

“Horrific Russian rocket strikes on Kyiv. Last time our capital experienced anything like this was in 1941 when it was attacked by Nazi Germany,” Kuleba wrote on Twitter.

“Ukraine defeated that evil and will defeat this one. Stop Putin. Isolate Russia. Sever all ties. Kick Russia out of everywhere,” he added.

At least three people were injured in Kyiv amid rocked fires, according to the mayor, Vitali Klitschko.

Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine was announced early Thursday by President Vladimir Putin, and on the first day of the operation, more than 130 people including civilians were killed, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
