UK's far-right Reform party hits its lowest poll rating since April last year

Support for Nigel Farage’s party falls to 24% as Conservatives recover slightly and Labour edges up, poll shows

LONDON (AA) - Britain's far-right party Reform UK has fallen to its lowest polling level since April, according to a new survey released this morning, continuing a downward trend that has been evident since last fall.

The latest weekly Sky News, Times, YouGov poll puts Nigel Farage’s party on 24%, down two points on the previous week.

That represents its weakest showing for several months and comes amid a modest recovery for the Conservatives and a slight uptick for Labour.

The Conservatives have risen by one point to 20%, while Labour has gained two points to reach 19%. The Liberal Democrats remain unchanged on 16%. The Greens have slipped back by two points to 14%.

The pollster cautioned that the findings represent a single snapshot and said it would be important to see whether the trend is confirmed by other polls in the coming days.

Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has been accused of going back on its election pledges to cut council tax after several councils under its control signaled plans to raise rates close to the legal limit.

Among them is Kent County Council, the party’s flagship authority and a key “shop window” for how a Reform-led government claims it would govern, which has proposed a 3.99% council tax increase.

This development is likely to have a significant impact on the party’s voter base in the near term.
