UN Tourism to open 1st African office in Morocco
New office in Rabat to stimulate Moroccan tourism sector, as well as cooperate in boosting Africa’s tourism, while organizing courses, workshops for stakeholders from public, private sectors

RABAT (AA) – UN Tourism Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili and Moroccan Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor signed an agreement to establish the UN Tourism’s first African office in Rabat, Morocco's capital.
Pololikashvili and Ammor met in Marrakech on Tuesday, and the meeting marked an important milestone in the two parties' strategic partnership, as the UN Tourism office will support innovation and investment, according to a Moroccan Tourism Ministry statement.
The office will pave the way for increased cooperation between African countries and UN Tourism, as well as stimulating Morocco's own tourism industry.
UN Tourism’s office will organize capacity-building courses and workshops for stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
The office’s mission is to revitalize Africa’s tourism sector, the statement read.
