UPDATE - 2 dead in shooting at US nightclub

ANKARA (AA) - Two teenagers were killed and two-dozen people hurt in a gun attack at a nightclub in the state of Florida, authorities said Monday.

The shooting at around 12.30 a.m. at Club Blu in Fort Myers was not an act of terrorism, according to police who said a motive remained unclear. Authorities are searching for more suspects beyond three already in custody.

The deceased have been identified as Sean Archilles, 14, and Stef’an Strawder, 18.

''We are deeply saddened by the shootings that took place in the city of Fort Myers early this morning,'' Mayor Randall Henderson said in a statement.

Officials said the injuries ranged from minor to life-threatening. NBC News cited a hospital official as saying four patients out of a total of 16 remain hospitalized with two in critical condition, and that the injured ranged in age from 12-27.

The city has announced a fund set up to help the families of the victims.
