ANKARA (AA) - Security forces nabbed seven terror suspects in Turkey's northwestern Edirne province while trying to flee to Greece through illegal means in two separate operations on Thursday.
In a Twitter post, the National Defense Ministry said a total of 10 people, including at least four suspected members of the PKK terror group and one of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) were arrested in the Ipsala town of Edirne, which borders Greece.
In another operation, security teams arrested three more people, including two PKK terror suspects, in a forbidden military zone in the same town.
This came after the security forces detected the suspects, identified by the initials A.K., and Iraqi nationals K.H. and Y.G. were preparing to flee to Greece.
It was found that one of the suspects, A.K., was wanted for membership of the PKK terrorist group.
FETO and its US-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and 2,734 injured.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of at least 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
