GAZA CITY, Palestine / ISTANBUL (AA) – At least 22 more Palestinians were killed and dozens injured in a new wave of Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, medical sources said.

In the latest attack, the Israeli army shelled the northern Jabalia city, killing three people and injuring others.

Two others were killed, and several were injured, including the parish priest of the Catholic Holy Family Church, when Israeli warplanes struck the church in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.

Eight people were killed in Israeli strikes targeting civilians gathered for aid distribution in Gaza City, medics said.

Israeli fighter jets struck a residential apartment in the Zeitoun neighborhood of the same city, leaving four civilians dead.

In central Gaza, five Palestinians, including children and women, were killed, and several others were injured in an Israeli drone strike on tents for displaced families in the Bureij refugee camp.

Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing nearly 58,600 Palestinians, most of them women and children.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
