ISTANBUL (AA) – Australian cyclist Caleb Ewan claimed the victory at the sixth stage of the 57th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkiye on Friday.

Ewan, a 27-year-old racer for Lotto-Soudal, finished the 205-kilometer (127-mile) ride on the Edremit-Eceabat track in four hours and 54 minutes, tasting his second victory in the race.

Jasper Philipsen from Alpecin-Fenix team came second while Danny van Poppel from Bora-Hansgrohe finished third. Drone Hopper-Androni Giocattoli's Eduardo Sepulveda continued to be the overall leader.

The sixth stage, which hosted 157 participants from 25 teams, has started in Edremit's Akcay town and ended on the historic Gallipoli peninsula in western Turkiye.

The racers crossed from Asia to Europe over the 1915 Canakkale Bridge, a suspension bridge with the longest mid-span in the world, measuring 2,023 meters (over 6,600 feet).
