ISTANBUL (AA) - Canada's air navigation service provider, NAV CANADA, said Thursday that airports at six locations returned to normal service after "bomb threats" prompted temporary ground stops.
“Following this morning’s security threat at multiple NAV CANADA sites, all operations have now returned to normal," NAV CANADA wrote on X.
The organization earlier said employees at airports in Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver were safe and authorities were collaborating to address concerns after reported "bomb threats."
NAV CANADA said it “cannot disclose the specific nature of the threat” due to “the interest of security protocols.”
It advised travelers to check with their airlines for updates as delays may still occur, adding that it is closely working with security forces as the investigation continues.
Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport said it was investigating a security incident that may disrupt operations.
Ottawa police confirmed it is working with the airport to investigate the incident.
Flights at most airports appeared to proceed, with most showing on-time status on their respective websites.
