ISTANBUL (AA) - China on Sunday launched two technical experiment satellites into space aboard a Lijian-1 Y9 carrier rocket, according to state-run media.
The rocket lifted off at 11.32 am local time (0332GMT) from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone near the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwestern China, Xinhua News reported.
The satellites were successfully placed into their designated orbit, the report said.
Separately on Sunday, China also launched three new test satellites into space from waters near Haiyang, located in Shandong Province, eastern China.
The Long March-11 carrier rocket, launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center at 5.01 am (2101GMT on Saturday), placed three Shiyan-32 test satellites into their designated orbits.
This launch also marked the 606th mission in the Long March rocket series.
