ISTANBUL (AA) - Iran has now been offline for over 60 hours, London-based internet monitoring group NetBlocks said on Sunday.
Telemetry indicates the nationwide internet restriction "remains firmly in place," the group stated on US social media company X.
It also said that national connectivity levels continue to flatline around 1% of ordinary levels.
Iran has been rocked by waves of protests since last month, starting Dec. 28 at Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, over the sharp depreciation of the Iranian rial and worsening economic conditions. Demonstrations later spread to several other cities.
There are no official estimates on casualties, but the non-governmental organization HRANA put the death toll at 116, with over 2,600 others detained.
