UPDATE - Israeli forces kill 3 Palestinians, injure 8 others in raid on West Bank

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - At least three Palestinians were killed and eight others injured when Israeli forces carried out a raid on Friday in the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.

"Three Palestinians were martyred and eight people were injured by the bullets of Israeli soldiers in the city of Jenin," the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement.

According to a report on Palestinian state television, it was determined that the dead Palestinians were Baraa Lahlouh, Laith Abu Surur Surur, and Yusuf Salah.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli soldiers raided Jenin and opened fire on a vehicle containing four Palestinians.

Following the incident, clashes broke out between Israeli soldiers and dozens of Palestinians. Israeli soldiers intervened using live ammunition and tear gas grenades.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) and other factions condemned the killing of the three young men by the Israeli army.

According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, the presidency condemned what it called a "heinous crime."

The PA blamed Tel Aviv for this "dangerous escalation," saying it was "pushing the region towards tension and an explosive situation."

It called on the US administration to "take serious and effective action by exerting pressure on the Israeli government to stop its crimes and continued aggression."

The PA also reiterated that the US should intervene before "things get out of control."

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, for its part, mourned the three slain Palestinians.

In a statement, it said that the "cowardly assassination" would not go "without reckoning."

"The Palestinian people and our freedom fighters know very well how to strike the (Israel) enemy and respond to this heinous crime," it added.

The Islamic Jihad movement also denounced the killing, describing it as "a cowardly Zionist assassination."

"This crime reveals the extent of the ugliness and criminality of this enemy (Israel), and such crimes will turn back against the occupation."
