JERUSALEM (AA) - Iran fired more than 200 missiles at Israel on Saturday, wounding 89 people and causing damage in central areas, as one missile struck a building in the city of Bnei Brak near Tel Aviv, according to Israeli media and emergency services.

Israel’s ambulance service said in a statement Saturday evening that it had treated 89 people with minor injuries since the morning as a result of the Iranian attacks.

Channel 13 reported that Tehran launched more than 200 missiles toward Israel during the day.

One Iranian missile directly hit a building in Bnei Brak, east of Tel Aviv, injuring several people, according to Yedioth Ahronoth and Channel 12.

Channel 12 also reported material damage in the central city of Rosh HaAyin following missile fire from Iran.

Earlier, the Israeli army said it had detected a new barrage of missiles launched from Iran as part of evening attacks toward Israeli territory.

Air raid sirens sounded in several areas in central and southern Israel following the launches.

Israeli authorities maintain strict censorship regarding losses resulting from Iranian missile fire, including the number of projectiles that landed and their impact locations, according to Israeli media reports.

On Saturday morning, the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran, claiming it was meant to remove “threats” posed by the Iranian “regime.” In response, Iran targeted Israel and the US bases in the region with missiles and drones.
