LONDON (AA) - An environmental NGO said on Wednesday that police arrested 10 of its activists protesting at Parliament Square in central London.

A video showed that police officers were arresting some protesters during the group's "slow march" which has been held by the Just Stop Oil every day since April 24.

Sharing the video, the group said that an 81-year-old and 73-year-old, who has been wheelchair-dependent for 15 years, were among 10 arrested by the police.

"Ten Just Stop Oil supporters have been arrested at Parliament Square for peacefully marching in the road, demanding that the UK Government immediately halt all new oil and gas consents and licences," the NGO said on Twitter.

Earlier, the NGO shared another video footage showing police officers trying to drag the protesters off a central road, close to the West Kensington Underground Station.

Vehicles blocked by protesters trying to get past by honking their horns could also be seen in a video shared on Twitter.

The group has been staging protests either at events by pouring orange powder or blocking roads, causing traffic disruption to demand that the British government halt all licenses and consents for new oil, gas, and coal projects.
