DIYARBAKIR, Turkey (AA) - The Turkish military has killed five PKK terrorists during anti-terror operations in the country's southeast and northeast on Friday and Saturday.

Three PKK terrorists were killed in an air-supported operation on Friday afternoon in the village of Dibek in southeastern Diyarbakir province's Lice district, a statement from the Diyarbakir Governor's office said on Saturday.

In a separate operation in northeastern Kars province's Kagizman district, one PKK terrorist was killed on Saturday, Governor Rahmi Dogan told Anadolu Agency.

Later on Saturday, Dogan said another terrorist was also killed in Kagizman.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
