ANKARA (AA) - Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said on Wednesday Turkey's main opposition leader was fueling global propaganda against the country.

Speaking at an event held by the Forestry and Water Management Ministry, Yildirim rejected allegations made by Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu that relatives of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had money stashed abroad.

Yildirim said Kilicdaroglu had made similar, baseless claims "tens of times" in the past.

He added: “The situation is no different today.”

Kilicdaroglu has come out with fake documents, Yildirim said.

On Tuesday, Kilicdaroglu, in a speech to his party lawmakers, presented documents he claimed were evidence of his allegation against the president.

Erdogan also rejected the allegations earlier and vowed to resign if they could be proved.

“Yesterday, the president of the main opposition party Kilicdaroglu, took a handful of papers at the group meeting and enthusiastically attempted to kill the reputations of our president’s relatives,” Yildirim said.

“He thinks that he can ruin our president’s reputation through fictional documents”, Yildirim added.

Yildirim called on the CHP leader to “surrender to the nation. Say good things to the people. Maybe one day you will come to power. Who knows?”
