IZMIR / KILIS, Turkey (AA) - Police confiscated over 12 tons of ethyl alcohol in Turkey on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip, anti-smuggling teams of Izmir police raided two warehouses in the Bornova district of the Aegean province to seize 12 tons of ethyl alcohol.
Three suspects, only identified by the initials A.G., D.K., and M.G., were arrested. They were aged between 25-27.
Separately in the southern Kilis province, police seized at least 400 liters (105 gallons) of ethyl alcohol.
Anti-smuggling teams found the liquid during a search in a vehicle and arrested the driver.
The Syrian national driver, identified only by the initials H.B., was later released.
