BIST 100 rises over 6 points to hit new record high closing

ANKARA (AA) – Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul on Wednesday gained 0.27% to close at a new record high of 2,525.93 points.
The BIST 100 index also hit a fresh intraday all-time high of 2,536.49 points.
Starting the day at 2,528.24 points, the index increased 6.69 points from Tuesday's close of 2,519.24 points.
The index's lowest value during the day was 2,502.43 points.
Its total market value was more than 2.05 trillion Turkish liras ($140.4 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of over 44.1 billion Turkish liras ($3 billion).
During the third transaction day of the week, 59 stocks on the index rose, 38 fell, and three remained unchanged compared to Tuesday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, glassmaker Sise Cam, and private lender Garanti BBVA.
Major cardboard producer Kartonsan was the best performer of the day with its shares up 8.28%, while machinery parts producer Parsan saw the biggest drop, 2.58%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,951.80 by market close, down from $1,977 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was trading at $106.96 per barrel with a 0.3% daily loss as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
