UPDATE - Turkish stocks down at Tuesday close
BIST 100 index slips some 52 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 1,400.22 points, down 3.58% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 1,457.48 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index has lost 51.96 points from Monday's close of 1,452.18 points.
During the day, the index's value hovered between 1,400.22 points and 1,459.26 points, with 99 stocks on the index falling and one rising compared to Monday.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 988 billion Turkish liras ($118 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 21 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).
The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, automotive company Karsan, and national flag carrier Turkish Airlines.
Prominent sports club Fenerbahce (FENER) was the sole stock to post an increase, gaining 1.49%, while shares of real estate investment trust Akis GMYO (AKSYG) struggled the most, losing 8.54%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,881.50 by market close, up from $1,879.60 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $68.60 per barrel as of 6.10 p.m. local time (1510GMT).
