UPDATE - Turkish stocks end week flat on Friday

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the week at 1,557.39 points, up 0.06% from the previous close.

Starting Friday at 1,558.33 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 0.90 points over Thursday's close of 1,556.49 points.

During the day, the index's lowest value was 1,549.31 points, while its daily high was 1,561.65 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.19 trillion Turkish liras ($159 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 20 billion Turkish liras ($2.6 billion).

On the last transaction day of the week, 42 stocks on the index rose, 53 fell, and five were unchanged compared to Thursday.

The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, and polyester producer Sasa and iron/steel producer Kardemir.

Logo, a major software producer, was the best performer, with its shares up 4.46%, while stocks of interest-free lender Albaraka Turk​​​​​​​ dropped the most with 7.08%

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,710.00 by market close, down from $1,739.35 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $69.47 per barrel as of 6.00 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Friday.
