KAHRAMANMARAS, Türkiye (AA) - In yet another miraculous rescue, a woman was found alive after more than 10 days or 258 hours since twin earthquakes struck southern Türkiye.

Twenty-nine-year-old Neslihan Kilic was pulled from the rubble in central Kahramanmaras province Thursday. She was later moved to Sutcu Imam University Medical Faculty Hospital.

“Thank God my sister survived. They say she is in a conscious state, but we haven't gotten the opportunity to see her yet. May Allah give everyone such a happy moment,” said Kilic’s brother Yusuf Yalcinoz.

Her father Cuma Altinoz said: “My Allah did not turn down my prayers. Half an hour ago, my daughter's bag was pulled out, and half an hour later, she herself. I want all my religious fellows to be saved. Her husband was a sergeant and just came back from Syria."

"Our patient uttered her first words (after being rescued). She said her name, asked about her relatives, and when she was told they were fine, she was relieved. She is in a conscious state. Her condition is stable now," said her doctor, Muhammed Semih Gedik.

More than 38,000 people have died in the earthquakes that jolted southern Türkiye last week, the country's disaster agency said.

The Feb. 6 magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 quakes were centered in Kahramanmaras and struck 10 other provinces – Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Hatay, Gaziantep, Malatya, Kilis, Osmaniye, Elazig and Sanliurfa. More than 13 million people have been affected by the devastating quakes.

Several countries in the region, including Syria and Lebanon, also felt the strong tremors that struck Türkiye in the space of less than 10 hours.
