US: 6th woman accuses NY governor of sexual harassment

ANKARA (AA) - A sixth woman has reportedly come forward and accused New York Governor Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment as he faces calls to resign.

The Albany Times Union reported Tuesday that a woman member of the executive chamber staff recently told a supervisor that Cuomo inappropriately touched her late last year during an encounter at the Executive Mansion, where she had been summoned to do work.

The identity of the women was withheld as the newspaper could not reach her for a comment.

Later Tuesday, Cuomo denied all sexual harassment allegations when he was asked about the newest one during a conference call with reporters.

"I'm not aware of any other claim. As I said last week, this is very simple. I never touched anyone inappropriately," said the governor. "As I said last week, I never made any inappropriate advances. As I said last week, no one ever told me at the time that I made them feel uncomfortable."

Cuomo is facing calls for his resignation after several women, including his aides, stepped forward claiming sexual harassment by the Democratic governor. Also, his administration is under fire for showing coronavirus-related deaths in nursing homes way lower than real numbers.
