US durable goods orders fall more than expected in November

ISTANBUL (AA) – US durable goods orders decreased more than expected in November, ending its increase for three consecutive months, according to official data released on Friday.

New orders for manufactured durable goods declined $5.8 billion, or 2.1%, to $270.6 billion, the US Commerce Department’s Census Bureau said in a report.

The market estimate for the figure was to show a 0.6% decline, while the gain for October was also revised down to 0.7% from 1%.

"Excluding defense, new orders decreased 2.6%," the report said. "Transportation equipment, down following three consecutive monthly increases, drove the decrease, $6.1 billion or 6.3% to $91.3 billion."
