US envoy arrives in Beirut for talks with Lebanese officials

ISTANBUL (AA) – US envoy for Syria Tom Barrack arrived in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Sunday for talks on bilateral relations and regional developments.

According to local media reports, the visit may reflect a renewed American engagement in Lebanon, which is facing deepening economic hardships and political uncertainty.

In a post on social media platform X, Barrack called for “peace and dialogue to prevail” in Syria, warning against “cycles of tribal vengeance.”

There was no immediate statement from the US Embassy in Beirut regarding the envoy’s agenda or scheduled meetings during the visit.
