US October producer inflation data release pushed to January

October Producer Price Index data to be released with November data on Jan. 14 next year, statistics bureau says

ISTANBUL (AA) - The US Bureau of Labor Statistics said Monday that it would delay the release of October producer inflation figures because data collection was disrupted during the record-long federal government shutdown that ended last month.

In a statement, the bureau said it is gathering October reference-period data “on a delay due to the lapse in appropriations” and plans to publish it alongside the November Producer Price Index release on Jan. 14.

It added that some data used for monthly import and export price figures will not be released because they cannot be collected retroactively.

The bureau noted that some indices rely on non-survey sources rather than survey responses, and that most non-survey data available retroactively for October would be published with the November figures.

The statement also said the October data was scheduled to be released with the November import and export price indices on Jan. 15, 2026.

The flow of economic data was disrupted during the longest government shutdown in US history, which began Oct. 1 and ended Nov. 12.
