US woman writing book on grief charged with husband’s death

ANKARA (AA) - A US woman, who penned a book for children on grief in the wake of her husband’s death, was arrested on Monday on charges of murdering her spouse, according to authorities.

Kouri Darden Richins, 33, was arrested for allegedly poisoning her late spouse, Eric Richins, with a lethal dose of fentanyl at their home in Kamas City, Utah on March 4, 2022, according to KUTV.

Coroners found her husband dead on the floor at the foot of his bed, the report added citing an arrest warrant.

The woman has also three second-degree felony charges of possessing a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, officials said.

Richins wrote a picture book "Are You With Me?" to help children cope with the death of a loved one.

She said the book was to bring peace to her and her three children.

A detention hearing is scheduled on May 19.
