Uzbekistan's president conveys his solidarity, support and sympathy to Gulf countries
Country's foreign minister discusses situation in Middle East with his counterparts from Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, UAE and Qatar

ISTANBUL (AA) – Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev conveyed his solidarity, support and sincere sympathy Sunday to the Gulf countries, Foreign Minister Baxtiyor Saidov said on Telegram.
Saidov said he held separate phone calls with his counterpart from Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi; Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani; UAE counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.
The officials discussed the situation in the Middle East, Saidov said, underlining the importance of resolving all issues peacefully with full respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity and in accordance with international law.
The US and Israel launched an attack on Iran on Saturday, killing several top officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran retaliated with drone and missile strikes that hit several Gulf countries.
Israel and the US launched a similar attack on Iran last June, triggering a 12-day war before a ceasefire was announced.
