Yemen's Houthis report 6 US-British airstrikes on capital Sanaa

- Attacks target 2 complexes in central Sanaa, according to Houthi-run media

SANAA, Yemen (AA) – US and British warplanes launched six airstrikes on the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Tuesday, the Houthi group said.

The Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV said the attacks targeted the al-Ardi Complex, which houses the Defense Ministry headquarters, and the 22nd May Complex, which houses the Defense Ministry premises in central Sanaa.

No information was provided about casualties or damage from the strikes.

There was no immediate comment from Washington or London on the report.

The attacks came hours after the Houthis fired two ballistic missiles at Israel’s Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv and a power plant in southern Jerusalem.

Between Dec. 19-28, the Houthis had carried out 13 military operations against Israeli targets, according to a statement by the group.

Last week, Israel launched airstrikes against Houthi-held positions in Sanaa, and the coastal province of Al-Hudaydah in retaliation for Houthi drone and missile attacks.

The Houthis have targeted Israeli cargo ships or those associated with Tel Aviv in the Red Sea with missiles and drones in a show of support with the Gaza Strip, where over 45,500 people have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war since Oct. 7, 2023.
