YPG/PKK continues attacks on Syrian opposition group

Number of Kurdish National Council’s offices vandalized by terrorists reaches 5

ANKARA (AA) - The YPG/PKK terrorist group on Wednesday continued to attack offices of opposition Kurdish National Council (ENKS) in Syria, according to local sources.

Tension continues to escalate in the region as clashes erupted between YPG/PKK terrorists and Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) forces. The KRG has close relations with the ENKS and YPG is PKK terrorist group's offshoot in Syria.

After vandalizing a council office in Ad-Darbasiyah city on Sunday and another in the town of Amuda on Tuesday in northeast Syria, the terrorists targeted three more offices of the ENKS on Wednesday, said the sources on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

Offices in al-Hasakah’s city center, Qamishli city center and Ayn al-Arab (Kobane) district center suffered great damage and became unusable.

The terrorists also set ablaze the Kobane office, they added.

While the number of offices vandalized by the terrorists reached five, the vehicle of an ENKS member, Musrif Mulla, was also set on fire by the terrorists as it was parked in al-Hasakah.

The YPG/PKK's attacks against the ENKS came following tensions and clashes between the terror group and the KRG's Peshmerga forces in Dohuk city which left one Peshmerga soldier dead.

Nine months of negotiations between the YPG/PKK and the ENKS failed due to the YPG/PKK's refusal to withdraw from the areas in northern Syria it invaded in 2013.
