New restrictions will remain in force until at least Nov. 19 and apply to areas such as education, cultural events, and sports.

Under the measures announced by De Croo, professional sports matches will take place without spectators and amateur competitions have been prohibited.

Games for people above the age of 18 will be allowed and players will be able to attend outdoor trainings.

Cultural events can continue but with no more than 200 people in attendance and proper implementation of social distancing rules.

Amusement parks and indoor areas of zoos will be closed, while outdoor areas can remain open.

Academic activities will continue in kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools.

In higher education, up to 20% of students can attend classes provided that they wear masks, while the figure is up to 50% for first year students.
