Iran reports 462 more virus deaths, over 11,700 cases

TEHRAN (AA) – Iran registered 462 more coronavirus-related fatalities on Wednesday, raising the nationwide death toll to 39,664, according to the country's Health Ministry.

A total of 11,780 more people tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, pushing the overall count up to 715,068, ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said.

She said 536,105 patients have recovered so far, while 5,601 are in critical condition.

All of Iran’s 31 provinces are currently red zones with high risk of virus transmission, she warned.
