Amazon acquires One Medical for $3.9B

US-based global marketplace giant to pay $18 per share of One Medical

ISTANBUL (AA) – US-based global marketplace giant Amazon has acquired health firm One Medical for $3.9 billion, according to a Thursday press release.

Amazon said the two sides have entered a definitive merger agreement for purchasing One Medical.

“Together with One Medical’s human-centered and technology-powered approach to health care, we believe we can and will help more people get better care,” Neil Lindsay, senior vice president of Amazon Health Services, said in the press release.

One Medical, headquartered in San Francisco, aims to transform health care for all through a human-centered, technology-powered model, according to the statement.

Amazon will pay $18 per share of One Medical.
