Asian stock markets close mixed

ANKARA (AA) – Asian stock markets closed mixed on Wednesday, as most of them failed to recover from last two day's losses.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, was down 8 points, or 0.25%, to 3,221.

Tokyo’s Nikkei 225 stock exchange was the worst performer for the second consecutive day by plummeting 303 points, or 1.14%, to 26,326.

While the Indian Sensex benchmark dropped 152 points, or 0.3%, to 52,541, the Singapore index decreased 3 points, or 0.1%, to finish at 3,105.

China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange, on the other hand, increased 16 points, or 0.5%, to 3,305.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, was the best performer of the day by adding 240 points, or 1.14%, to 21,308.
