Asian stock markets close mixed

Hong Kong stock exchange slumps 2.35%, Tokyo's Nikkei 225 rises 0.48%

ANKARA (AA) - Major Asian stock markets posted mixed figures in Wednesday's closing session.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, decreased by 1.06% to 3,345.33 points as of 1057GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 gained 0.48% to close at 28,444.19 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, also dove 2.35% to 20,051.25 points, following a decrease on Wall Street Tuesday.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange fell 0.06% to close at 3,283.25.

The Singapore index dropped 0.57% to end the day at 3,226.86 points.

India's Sensex benchmark rose 0.21% to close at 60,348.09.
