Asian stock markets close Tuesday mixed

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange performs best at close, up 1.03%

ANKARA (AA) - Major Asian stock markets closed Tuesday with mixed figures.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, added 7.4 points, or 0.23%, to reach 3,181 at 1001GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 stock exchange increased 269.7 points, or 1.03%, to 26,423 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, rose 22.7 points, or 0.10%, to 21,853.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange was flat, slightly down by 1.4 points, or 0.04%, to close at 3,404 points.

The Indian Sensex benchmark lost 64.5 points, or 0.12%, to end the day at 53,270.

The Singapore index decreased 16.1 points, or 0.52%, to finish at 3,104 points.
