Asian stock markets close with mixed figures

ANKARA (AA) – Major Asian stock markets posted mixed figures at Monday's closing session.

The People’s Bank of China on Monday kept its benchmark interest rates unchanged for the sixth consecutive month, widely in line with expectations.

The Asia Dow, which includes blue-chip companies in the region, increased 0.54% to 3,423.01 points as of 1137GMT.

Tokyo's Nikkei 225 earned 0.07% to close at 27,531.944 points.

The Hang Seng, the benchmark for blue-chip stocks trading on the Hong Kong stock exchange, also rose 0.81% to 20,886.96 points.

China's Shanghai Stock Exchange increased 2.06% to close at 3,290.34 points.

The Singapore index decreased 0.59% to end the day at 3,308.75 points, while India's Sensex benchmark lost 0.51% to close at 60,691.54 points.
