August inflation down to 17.2% in Czech Republic
Consumer price index down by 0.3 percentage point from July

ISTANBUL (AA) – The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic came in at 17.2% in August, down by 0.3 percentage points from July's 17.5%, official data showed on Monday.
According to the country's statistical office, the price growth slowdown was seen mainly in transport item.
"Price growth of fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment slowed down to 28.3% (increase by 43.6% in July)," it added.
The housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels item was the main contributor of the high inflation in August, it noted.
"Actual rentals increased by 5.1%, prices of water supply by 5.3%, sewage collection by 6.4%, electricity by 34.6%, natural gas by 61.4%, solid fuels by 45.8%, and heat and hot water by 20.1%," it underlined.
