Borsa Istanbul down at open

BIST 100 index drops 0.25 percent while US dollar/Turkish lira rate stands at around 3.52

ANKARA (AA) - Istanbul’s BIST 100 shares were down 264.09 points at the start of business on Friday.

The market went down by 0.25 percent to open at 106,471.47 points.

Stocks in the banking and holding sectors decreased by 0.12 and 1.32 percent respectively.

Among all sectors the investment trust sector was the best performer with 0.98 percent whilst the holding sector index started the day with the biggest decline.

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 3.5270 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared with 3.5290 at Thursday's close.
