Bank's profit jumped 317% to $8.67B last year

ANKARA (AA) – British multinational bank Barclays saw its profit quadruple in 2021, according to financial results released on Wednesday.

Barclays’ attributable profit was at £6.37 billion ($8.67 billion) for the full year of 2021, jumping 317% from £1.53 billion the year before.

Total income, however, stood almost unchanged at £21.94 billion in 2021 from £21.77 billion in 2020.

For the fourth quarter of 2021, attributable profit stood at £1.12 billion, a significant increase from £220 million recorded in the final quarter of 2020.

Total income during that period also rose to £5.16 billion from £4.94 billion.

After the release of the positive financial data, Barclays’ stock price was up around 3% in the London Stock Exchange at 0850GMT.
