Economists forecast Turkish economy grew by 5.2% in 2022: Survey

Economists' 2023 forecast at 3.3% for Türkiye's GDP growth rate, survey by Anadolu shows

ISTANBUL (AA) - Economists forecast that Türkiye's gross domestic product growth rate will be at 5.2% in 2022 and 2.8% in the last quarter, an Anadolu survey showed on Friday.

Expectations of 13 economists hovered between 5% and 5.4% for the year and 2.2% and 4% for the last quarter.

Meanwhile, nine economists also predicted that the country's economy will grow by 3.3% in 2023.

The Turkish Statistical Institute will release GDP figures on Tuesday.

The country's GDP increased by 7.5% in the first quarter of last year, 7.7% in the second, and 3.9% in the third quarter.
